Ronit A. Ridberg, PhD, MS is Research Assistant Professor at the Food is Medicine Institute at Tufts University, the leading global academic center advancing food-based interventions to improve health and reduce disparities.
Current research in her portfolio focuses on leveraging Food is Medicine (FIM) to address high risk pregnancy and perinatal health outcomes; examining FIM program design features that support sustained behavior change; and integrating nutrition security screening into routine clinical care. Dr. Ridberg’s work informs policy, health system implementation, and advocacy efforts around FIM; she has provided strategic guidance to foundations, government agencies, and nonprofit and clinical implementers across the country. Dr. Ridberg’s academic training spans anthropology, nutrition, agricultural policy, nursing science, and healthcare leadership; her earliest professional experience was as a documentary producer, and she is increasingly interested in finding new ways to explore the diverse and dynamic stories of those working, living, and eating within the FIM landscape.
