Kendrin Sonneville, ScD, RD, is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where she also directs the Center of Excellence for Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health.
A registered dietitian, behavioral scientist, and public health nutrition researcher, Dr. Sonneville focuses on developing and evaluating practical, scalable nutrition interventions that improve access to nutritious foods while promoting health and well-being across the life course. Her work has examined Food Is Medicine interventions among populations experiencing nutritional and social vulnerability, including pregnant young women with low incomes and adults with depression. An important complementary focus of Dr. Sonneville’s research is identifying and addressing the unintended consequences of public health and nutrition interventions, including impacts on maladaptive eating and psychological well-being.
Dr. Sonneville received her MS in Human Nutrition from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University and her ScD in Public Health Nutrition from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
